Urban mobility faces unprecedented challenges: rising CO₂ emissions, air pollution, spatial and social inequalities, and climate stress fundamentally threaten healthy cities. While many scientific and technological innovations in the mobility sector are being developed to address these topics in cities, a responsible innovation development and implementation process remains a critical task.
In this session, we invite researchers working on urban mobility and urban areas to present and discuss methods of transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary research in the field of responsible innovation development and implementation. We particularly invite contributions that address questions of: How do we integrate ethical values and societal needs into the development and implementation process of mobility innovations? How can we operationalize value-based goals for integrated mobility planning in urban areas? How can we integrate methods from planning, spatial science, health, and ethics to address responsible innovations in urban mobility? We aim to discuss and advance transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary methodologies for value-driven urban mobility research and transformation pathways towards livable cities.
