Charité Center for Global Health | Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin
Global health threats, from emerging infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance to conflict-driven crises, challenge the resilience of health systems worldwide, and demand timely and coordinated responses that integrate biomedical, technological, social, and policy-based approaches. This session invites interdisciplinary work on how societies, institutions, and health systems prepare for and respond to global health threats. We welcome research spanning the molecular to the systemic, and covering pathogens, preparedness, and the politics of response.
Among others, topics may include:
- Innovations in surveillance, diagnostics, and epidemic intelligence
- Governance and coordination in pandemic preparedness and response
- Antimicrobial resistance as a global security issue
- Equity, trust, and decision-making under conditions of uncertainty
- Institutional learning and resilience-building after health crises
- Preparedness and response in humanitarian settings, including conflict, natural disasters, and displacement
Preparedness and response in humanitarian settings, including conflict, natural disasters and displacement
We encourage submissions from across disciplines, including virology, public health, political science, anthropology, systems science, and law. We also welcome contributions from those working at the intersection of global health and humanitarian action. Studies using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods are welcome, especially those offering empirical insights, conceptual innovations, or practical recommendations for future preparedness.
